A couple of little 5x7 pastel studies today during the Rosebud plein air paint out. I don't love them, but at least I don't hate them! 😂 My pond definitely needs a bit of hill behind it!

How do we bear witness to the injustices we see in the world around us? That was the question that I was pondering when I began this piece. At first, I intended it to speak about the willful blindness that most of us exhibit at some point either by choosing to ignore the injustices we see because we are afraid, or because we think we cannot change them. As I continued to work on it, it became clear that it was also representative of how those injustices can impact us over time, when we see so many on a daily basis. . "Witness" Masquerade Series Encaustic sculpture 8"x6"x5" Available on my website at www.dustigomery.com/masquerade . Link in bio.
